Politeness

Recently I had an encounter with some semi govt institute. The person I talked to was quite rough in language and attitude.
I could see that it was not only me who was being treated like that. It was beginning of the day, that means there was nothing like -end of an overwhelming day. Then why was he behaving like that.
And then I realized that he was not the only one or first person I had experienced with. We all have gone through these kind of experiences so many times . In fact we have accepted this as a routine - taken for granted that we don't even complain about it (one of the reasons can be that we also behave that way at our work place).

Now the point is - we need to be conscious to be polite at outer world , specifically at our work places.

I have heard about mind blowing coolness, politeness of people in western countries (developed countries ).  You can experience this also in India on customer care calls. A very first thing taught to call center employees is to remain polite in any kind of questions from the  other end.

Why cant we practice this everywhere in profession whether it be a shop, a mall, a school , public transport , gas agencies or garbage collector.

We're free to behave any way at our home or with friends . And it should be. We should be able to speak or behave without thinking at home. But at work places whether it's a CEO drawing 1 crore per annum or a sweeper drawing 1 lac per annum. Level of politeness should be same.

I think that in India, we have a mentality to be polite with our boss or parents only or some one with whom you have a highly beneficial interest. All other people are treated like beggars or debtors.
They will talk to you in very offensive tone without any reason, unconsciously.

Can't we change our habits ? We just need to be little conscious. Being polite doesn't mean you will be overloaded with work. It will simply keep the environment around cool. It will increase our metal health and stability, improve our image and relations.

Mind it.

Kutchi language at Schools

I had a discussion today with one of my colleagues, whether Kutchi should be spoken at schools of not.
Some of our colleagues speaks kutchi to communicate with students as the students feel comfortable. But in my views it is not a good practice. The first and foremost point is that students do come at school to learn various subjects (which are in Gujarati language) and Gujarati language itself is one of their subject.
Kutchi is not a Language. It doesn't have grammar or alphabets. So keeping them away from Gujarati has no sense. Some teachers think that they are being friendly with students by speaking kutchi but  Doing these we are harming them.
Students needs to increase their  Gujarati vocabulary because its needed for them in future. They need to write their papers in Gujarati not in kutchi.

So, for the purpose of students own benefits, we should make a practice to speak and make the students speak Gujarati at school. And teacher or parents should not relate it with prestige or harm to kutchi language.
